Although I never played the game myself, way back when I used to spend time at my friend’s house where he and his roommates played Warhammer 40K on their dining room table. I always loved the armor of the Space Marine units and, for a long time now, I’ve wanted to create costume pieces based on some of their items. I recently completed a full-scale functional costume piece based on the “Powerfist” which is a giant mechanized gauntlet as seen on this fellow’s left hand:
I went for a very clean look; if someone ends up buying this I wanted it to be possible for them to decorate/customize it as I know how much Warhammer players like to do some of the artwork on their figurines themselves.
Here’s a video of it in action:
The little skulls on the knuckles are an exact, scaled down match to the skull on the back of the hand
Each finger of the Powerfist is individually controlled via a loop worn over the wearer’s finger. There’s an access hatch to make it easier to put the loops on.
Also inside the access hatch is a switch which activates red LED lights located under the knuckle skulls.
